They have diverse backgrounds with significant experience at executive level within high technology companies in Australia, Europe and the US. Their experience is broad spectrum across industry sectors including internet, networking, mobile telephony and location based services. Having managed both multi-billion dollar businesses and start-ups alike, they are passionate about building our company into a dominate player within the “next big evolution” in the internet. Our parent company is incorporated in Delaware, US with an R&D subsidiary in Brisbane, Australia.

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinators, the intern will participate in research, analysis and critical reasoning of the internet, messaging/communication, semantic (Web3.0) web, attention/knowledge economies and web/mobile browser market place to develop a detailed map of the industry segmentation and work with the project coordinators to deliver a well planned target market and positioning. The specific tasks are detailed below.

This is an intense, short term role (3-4weeks). Successful completion of this internship may lead to future opportunities within the company. Objectives

  • Deliver a comprehensive, analytical report on the internet, messaging/communication, semantic (Web3.0) web, attention/knowledge economies and web/mobile browser market place to develop a detailed map of the industry segmentation including:
  1. market segment analysis,
  2. macro environmental analysis,
  3. industry forces / competition analysis, and
  4. key trend analysis
  • Indentify target market opportunities (and threats) and build market models to be used for market opportunity projections and market qualification
  • Conduct market research on the company’s initial product specification and provide feedback on alignment to the target market opportunities, including comprehensive recommendations and develop a differentiated positioning strategy for this product
  • The above analysis and research with the deliver on the primary objective of identifying revenue opportunities driven from synergy between market opportunity and our technology and product offerings/capabilities
  • Manage and report the progress of assigned tasks, in order to ensure project timescale are achieved
  • Report regularly on progress, issues and results to-date
  • Work closely with company executives based in Brisbane and Europe

Educational and General Requirements

  • MBA student with minimum progressive 6.0 GPA. Honours undergraduate, masters or PhD in either computer science or product marketing
  • Preferably some prior experience working with internet/software development projects or in a development environment
  • Have own laptop with Microsoft Office and broadband internet connection
  • Highly proficient user of Microsoft Office suite (in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Work in various office locations including your home office
  • Have access to complete suite of research libraries and databases
